Sandro Lunin

Artistic Director of the Zürcher Theaterspektakel


Sandro Lunin was born in 1959 in Zürich. After an education as primary school teacher he decided to engage in the field of theater. Working in different contexts (Theater am Neumarkt, board member of ASTEJ und EU NET ART, theater office of Rote Fabrik, Zürich), Lunin then became the Co-Director of the Schlachthaus Theater Bern (1997 – 2007). There he programmed co-productions and guest performances as well as special programmes with local, national or international partners. In 2007 he received the canton Bern award for „Kulturvermittlung“ (cultural mediation).
Since 2007, Sandro Lunin is the Artistic Director of the Zürcher Theaterspektakel. As a profound adept of Swiss theater, he also has a wide network of theater contacts in Europe, in the Middle East and in sub-Saharan Africa.
